Nei Gong & Sitting Practice

This longer retreat will incorporate intensive Nei Gong practice with covering the foundations of sitting practice. The length of the retreat will allow for immersion in a retreat setting.

For a while I have wanted to incorporate more sitting practice after doing some intensive Nei Gong, as it is central to my practice and enables the absorption of various practices we do in what I believe to be a very beneficial way.

We will use the tools of Hunyuan, Dragon Dao Yin and, if the weather permits, Ping Heng Gong. All this alongside a number of sitting sessions each day, aiming to gradually lead the practitioner into a deeper appreciation of the importance of stilling the mind, breath and body.

What is included in your retreat:

  • Use of heated, low-chemical indoor pool – helpful for releasing the joints/aches
  • Own room in the retreat centre, all linen & towels supplied (if residential)
  • High quality vegetarian, local, mostly organic food; most diets catered for (just ask); snacks, teas, fruit, etc. included
  • Zafus, cushions, blankets & bolsters for sitting practice provided

Please be aware that by the nature of being a longer event with a fairly intensive training schedule, including a number of sitting practice sessions per day, it is likely there will be times you hit your ‘edge’ or find it difficult.  If you are not sure this is right for you, please talk to us.  This event is not a beginner’s retreat.  If you are new to the school I would advise you to attend a weekend here or with one of the other teachers before participating.  Our training is intense and demanding – you need to be sure it’s for you.

We will be requesting that this retreat be a devices-free event, with all mobile phones/computers/etc. absolutely banned. There will be no wifi available on site. Of course, should there be a genuine emergency then you can come to one of us for assistance.

We will also be spending periods of these days in silence to allow for absorption.
